This was the location of Gazzari's,
which was one of the top rock venues in the world during the
70's and 80's. Former owner Bill Gazzari was known as the Godfather
of Rock n Roll, and was responsible for 'breaking in' major acts
at his club, such as Van Halen.
Before that, during the 30's
and 40's, this was the location of Sherry's Restaurant,
a favorite hangout for mobsters. It was at this location that
Mickey Cohen was gunned down in a failed hit. Click on the picture
