This was the location of the
Garden of Allah, a complex of apartments and bungalows
that housed many hollywood stars. Marilyn Monroe was said to
have sunbathed at the pool here, and many infamous parties were
suppose to have taken place here. The entry gate from the Garden
of Allah can be found at 8210 W. Sunset
Blvd. Joni Mitchell wrote the line from "Big Yellow
Taxi", "...they paved paradise and put up a parking
lot" about this bygone landmark which once stood here.
